What To Expect

12 – 4:30 PM

Experience the Crocker's world-renowned collection and diverse exhibitions through discussion and artmaking, and let great art of the past and present inspire your own creative expression. Most classes include at least one gallery visit to view the permanent collection or a special exhibition. The Museum's highly trained staff and instructors are committed to providing students of all experience levels with a supportive and engaging experience. Advance registration required.

Assemble a wonderous array of objects, both personal and decorative, to create a personalized wall piece in the style of artist Betye Saar, whose work is on view in Black Artists in America: From Civil Rights to the Bicentennial. Bring a collection of found objects from home or select from objects provided and ideate ways to combine them into a cohesive piece. Most supplies are included in the class fee, though participants are encouraged to bring objects from home to include.
