For more than 50 years, the Crocker has proudly presented its Classical Concert Series, featuring the finest musicians and singers from the region and around the world. These educational performances are approximately 60 minutes with no intermission and draw inspiration from art on view at the Museum. Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended. 

Drawing inspiration from the works on view in Joyce J. Scott: Messages, Theresa Keene paints a portrait of the everyday lives of African Americans and the challenges they face. Beautiful and at times confrontational, this performance features works from the Classical and Romantic periods, as well as works mainly composed by African Americans in the 20th century.
