2024 Art Auction submissions are CLOSED.

Submit your artwork to the Art Auction for consideration, or donate a work to Big Names, Small Art (BNSA). Artists may choose to submit to one or both opportunities.

The success of this crucial fundraiser is due in large part to the high-quality art contributed by artists like you, and your support directly benefits the thousands of children, families, and adults served by the Museum every year. Thank you for considering this opportunity!

Submission Requirements

All entries for Art Auction and BNSA must be submitted online through their respective forms. Art submission forms that are emailed or sent through the mail will not be accepted.

Artist Eligibility: Local, national, and international artists 18 years of age or older are eligible to submit to the Art Auction and/or BNSA. The artist may be in any phase of their career.

  • The artist must be able to deliver the artwork to the Museum either in person or via mail. All associated expenses are the responsibility of the artist.

Artwork Eligibility: All artworks submitted to Art Auction or BNSA must be original works for sale.

  • Artworks may be in any media, but must be ready for display.

Art submissions that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.

The Museum reserves the right to reject artwork during onsite inspections by Museum staff if artworks contain materials that might post a risk to the Museum, its collections, its staff, and/or the public.

Art Auction

Art Auction includes the online Silent Auction and the in-person Live Auction on June 1. Works are included in the Art Auction exhibition, as well as the Art Auction catalogue, and artists may choose to keep up to 50% of the proceeds of the sale of the artwork.

Up to three finished works may be submitted for consideration, but only one work may be accepted. Due to the volume of submissions, not all artists will have a work selected. Artists who are not selected for Art Auction are welcome to donate their work(s) to Big Names, Small Art!

Things to consider when submitting work to Art Auction:

  • Based on the fair-market value set by the artist, a minimum bid of 50% is required to open bidding.

  • Different sizes and price points are encouraged.

  • Artworks must be no more than 48 inches in width and may not exceed 80 inches in height.

  • Artwork may not weigh more than 200 pounds.

Big Names, Small Art

Big Names, Small Art (BNSA) is a fast-paced virtual auction that draws a large, global audience of new and seasoned art collectors. All mediums are welcome, but works must be 12 x 12 inches or smaller, and bidding starts at $25 regardless of the work’s fair market value.

Only one work per artist may be submitted. All submitted works that meet the submission requirements for BNSA are accepted.

Things to consider when donating to BNSA:

  • Artwork can be in any media but must be 12 x 12 inches or less.

  • Bidding on each piece starts at $25, regardless of the work’s fair market value.

  • 100% of proceeds from the sale of your artwork benefit the Crocker Art Museum’s education programs and exhibitions.

The 2024 Art Auction and BNSA art submission forms are now available! Artists may submit works for both opportunities. Please note that there are separate submission forms for submitting a work for consideration to Art Auction (which includes the Silent Auction and Live Auction) and for donating a work to BNSA.

Prepare the following materials prior to filling out the online forms:

  • High-quality image of the artwork(s) you are submitting (minimum size of 2000 x 2000 px and 300 dpi). File should be named: LastName_ArtworkTitle.

  • Details of the artwork(s) you are submitting, including title, date created, medium, size, and Fair Market Value (FMV).

  • Artist biography

  • Curriculum Vitae (optional)
