FLOW
The 2025 Noon Year’s Eve Festival invites families to celebrate the arrival of 2026 through an immersive creative space teeming with play, costume, sound, and puppets galore!
The festival’s themes of flow and connection are woven throughout the day, reminding us that time and nature are a bridge that connect each of us to one another, our future and our past. At noon, we gather for the signature countdown and ball drop that welcomes the New Year.
Festival highlights and artistic collaborators include:
Immersive Spaces
Musiclandia: Experiment with interactive sound looping stations and a one-hour live performance that layers multiple loopers and sounds to create an immersive soundscape.
Astrobotanticals: Elegant inflatable space plants inspired by classical ornamental flowers transform museum spaces into a dreamlike botanical landscape.
Puppet Performances
Giant Puppets Save the World: Giant puppets welcome you into the program and puppet animal guides lead tours through the spaces.
Possibly Puppets: Three showings of Save the Day for Snail, which invite children and families to interact, join as puppeteers, and contribute to the story’s resolution.
Costumes in Action
Robert Ortbal: Step into a playful, participatory “Community Dress-up" created by artist Robert Ortbal. Visitors are invited to try on Ortbal’s sculptural costumes including textured, fantastical animal heads and bold wearable forms.
Leung’s White Crane Lion Dancers: Vibrant, modern adaptation of the traditional southern Lion Dance using entertaining acrobatic movements.
Haus of Comedy: Professional improv artists bring the art off the wall by extending artworks into gallery performances that blend art-making, play, and collective expression.
