On the fourth Friday of every summer month, families can chill out at the Crocker and explore art and artmaking of all kinds through fun happenings around the Museum. Enjoy musical entertainment, gallery adventures, sensory play, and so much more.
Join us for our third Summer Family Friday of the season: Print!
Inspired by our newest exhibition, Arts, Letters, and Power: Van Dyck and the Portrait Print, families will explore gelli plate printmaking, carve their own styrofoam etching prints, experiment with dynamic stamping techniques, and craft a one-of-a-kind trading cards to swap.
Join us for these activities:
Printmaking with Styrofoam – Carve and press your own portrait print, just like 17th-century artists.
Snack – Enjoy a 1600s/Baroque-style sweet treat.
FlexiNatyam by Moksha Rao – Witness a mesmerizing dance performance blending classical Indian dance with contortion and yoga-inspired movement.
Experience live music performed by talented local youth musicians from the Sacramento Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Sensory Play with Sacramento Children’s Museum – Dive into hands-on exploration designed for all ages and abilities.
Storytelling with 916 Ink – Craft imaginative tales and bring your creativity to life through words.
