Group Visits and Tours 

Plan Your Visit

The Crocker invites adult, youth, and community groups of 8 or more to visit the Museum at a discounted admission rate of $12 per person. Explore the Museum on a private guided tour led by a Museum docent or independently at your own pace. Learn more about group visit options below.

To arrange a group visit, including guided tours, please email education@crockerart.org or call 916-808-1182. Groups must schedule their visit in advance and pay together in a single transaction to qualify for the group rate.

Non-Guided Group Visit

Journey into art on view with a reserved, guided tour led by one of the Museum's docents. Guided group tours are interactive experiences, typically one-hour long, and curated to fit the needs and interests of the visiting group. Following the scheduled tour, groups may continue to explore the galleries and enjoy Museum amenities including the café and Museum store. Tours are customized to each group’s interests and may include highlights of our permanent collection or special exhibitions.

  • Available Wednesday – Sunday · Groups of 8 or more are eligible.

  • $12 fee per adult. Group must pay together in a single transaction prior to the visit or at Admission desk upon arrival.

  • Six-week advance registration required. Groups without reservations may be accommodated if availability permits but will be charged standard admission rates.

  • Tours are available in American Sign Language, Cantonese, English, French, and Spanish based on docent availability.

  • Please notify the Museum of any accommodations or services we can provide to make your visit more comfortable.

Explore the Crocker at your own pace, without a dedicated guide. Group visitors enjoy access to the Museum’s galleries and amenities like the café and Museum store. Most groups allow 2 – 3 hours for exploration.

Journey into art on view with a guided tour led by one of the Museum's docents. Guided school group tours are 50-minute, interactive experiences that expose students to the Museum’s collection and special exhibitions. Educators and docents work together to customize the tour experience to the needs of each class. Following the scheduled tour, students with chaperones may continue to explore the galleries and enjoy the Crocker's amenities, including the Museum store.

  • Available Wednesday – Friday at 10 AM and 11 AM.

  • Standard tours are 50 minutes

  • 70 students per hour with one adult per eight students required.

  • $5 per student. $3 per students of Title 1 schools.

  • 1 free chaperone per eight students, $10 per additional chaperone.

  • Entire group must pay together in a single transaction prior to visit or at Admission desk upon arrival.

  • Six-week advance registration required. Groups without reservations may be accommodated if availability permits but will be charged standard admission rates.

  • Accommodations can be made for larger groups upon inquiry.

Expand on your Museum visit with a guided tour paired with an artmaking experience. During this two-hour experience, students explore art on view in the galleries before joining Museum educators in the studios to create their own artworks.

Tour + Printmaking

This fall, students in grades 3–12 discover the techniques, styles, and tools of printmaking while learning about different types of prints and printmaking artists. During the workshop, each student creates their own monoprint.

  • Available Wednesday – Friday at 10 and 11 AM

  • Recommended for grades 3–12

  • Maximum of 35 students per tour. One adult chaperone per eight students is required.

  • $300 per workshop.

  • Six-week advance registration required.

  • All supplies included.
