Back to Basics: Sculpture

Led by a practicing artist, this studio workshop will reintroduce teachers to the basics of sculpture practice in a laid-back and caring environment. Set aside some time to recharge, recenter, and remind yourself what you love about the arts.

Ease into the end of your school year with the still life, a centuries-old subject matter. Inspired by works on view in temporary exhibitions and the permanent collection, explore how this seemingly simple art form has the power to tell stories and demonstrate the foundational elements of art with a gallery tour and time in the studio. Afterward, enjoy complimentary admission into ArtMix, the Crocker’s fun-filled evening extravaganza.

Our team of professional museum educators will create a customized experience at our site or yours.

The Crocker Art Museum offers a full range of rich experiences designed to support the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, History/Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science and Technical Subjects, as well as the California Arts Standards.
