This summer, children ages 7 to 9 can explore various mediums, themes, and activities at our in-person, week-long art camps. Campers will connect through fun learning experiences, individual and collaborative art projects, and creative free time, all led by the Crocker‘s professional art educators.
Choose from one of three art-filled themes outlined below. Each theme will be offered twice over the course of summer to accommodate busy schedules, and all camps will provide outdoor recreation, gallery-based lessons, tours, and activities. In addition, each camper will get to take home their own “Crocker Kid” t-shirt.
JUNE 20 – 24 | JULY 18 – 22
9 AM – 1 PM
In this art camp, campers will explore a wide variety of painting techniques using watercolor and acrylic paint to create yummy still lifes and colorful portraits. The fun and almost life-like paintings in the Crocker’s collection will inspire their creations!
Sculpting: Clay and Beyond!
JUNE 27 – JULY 1 | AUG 1 – 5

Designed to push creativity outside the box, this camp session will present campers with opportunities to work with air-dry clay, papier-mâché, and other hands-on materials to create three-dimensional art! In the galleries, campers will learn the art of balance and form while viewing works from our ceramics collection and sculptures on display.
Experimenting: Science Madness!
JULY 11 – 15 | AUG 8 – 12

This camp session will spark campers' sense of curiosity as they enter the exciting world of art and science, where solids change to liquids and mixing is fun! Campers will learn about the many artists in the Museum's collection who took experimentation to the next level.
