Designed for beginners, this class gets students started with an understanding of basic proportions of the human face, neck, and head. Participants will observe professional models in a variety of positions. Through demonstration and practice, they will become familiar with contour, gesture, and observational drawing. Each session will include instruction in basic acrylic painting skills, color mixing, and composition, and students will produce one portrait painting each week during the last 4 weeks of the class.
