Teen Art Labs: Comics Across Cultures: Manga, Fumetti, & Bande dessinée
13 – 17
Thursday, July 7, 2022
2:30 – 4:30 PM
Explore sequential art
storytelling (AKA comics and graphic novels) from around the world with local
comic book artist and author Eben Burgoon. From the United States to Japan to
Italy to France, consider how different cultures combine text and image in a
sequence of panels to tell rich stories and share complex ideas.
This is a special program for young adults interested in taking a deeper dive into the visual arts. This program not only offers participants an opportunity to explore various art mediums, but it uses the fine art in the Crocker’s collection as a point of inspiration. Crocker staff and local artists will drop in to share perspectives.
