William Feasley - Classical Guitar
Sunday, August 14, 2022
For more than 50 years, the Crocker has proudly presented its Classical Concert Series, featuring the finest musicians and singers from the region and around the world. These educational performances are approximately 60 minutes with no intermission and draw inspiration from art on view at the Museum. Enhance your Classical Concerts experience with a Prelude Tour.
Inspired by the varied poses featured in the exhibition Twinka Thiebaud and the Art of the Pose, classical guitarist William Feasley takes his audience on an unexpected journey with variation. Pulling from his recent album, Diferencias, Feasley performs variation techniques from Alonso Mudarra and Pánfilo de Narvaez, Spanish Vihuelists from the Renaissance, as well as Johann Sebastian Bach’s Chaconne. The highlight of the concert will be Feasley’s world premiere performance of jazz pianist McCoy Tyner’s Passion Dance. Don’t miss this stirring and, at times, unpredictable performance.
