Celebrate World Collage Day
Ages 18+
Saturday, May 14, 2022
10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
World Collage Day brings people together to create new perspectives and ways of thinking— just like collage artwork! Learn how to conceptualize and form a collage-based narrative using personal ephemera, and meet others with the same interests. Participants are invited to bring old family documents, photos, and mementos (or copies of same) to personalize their art.
Instructor: Jill Allyn Stafford is a collage and mixed media artist based out of Sacramento, California. Jill’s experimentation with collage as an art form began as a way to craft new stories from images she found in magazines and books, but has evolved into an act of love, turning saved family documents into works of art. Jill currently creates art using vintage family papers, letters and documents, found paper, photographs, stamps, vintage postcards, and damaged vintage paper parasols. She has shown her work in numerous galleries and venues in Sacramento, as well as in galleries in Woodstock, New York and in the UK. Jill has also been published in Sacramento Magazine, Insight Magazine, and Submerge Magazine. You can visit Jill in Studio 4 in the ARTHOUSE Gallery & Studios on 1021 R Street in Sacramento, California.
