Art and food enthusiasts alike will delight in the Crocker’s new culinary art series. Each event will feature a unique food or wine tasting paired with art on view at the Crocker. This program will introduce participants to innovative chefs, sommeliers and other specialists within the culinary arts and give an in-depth look at their craft.

Join us for a Valentine’s Day inspired session of ArtTastes featuring the closest thing to happiness that you can eat: chocolate!

Guittard Chocolate Company, a San Francisco-based chocolate maker with over 150 years of experience, will guide this experience with Thalia Hohenthal, lead food scientist, and Amy Guittard, fifth-generation family member and marketing director, leading the way. Learn how to taste chocolate and appreciate the subtle details that will ensure you enjoy the full and complex flavors imparted in each bite. Tasting participants will taste, smell, and melt chocolate in their mouths to note the progression of flavors.

The Guittard chocolatiers will be joined by Sam Reep, one of the Crocker’s seasoned docents, who will pair each chocolate variety with art in the Crocker’s collection.

Last chance to join! Tasting kits are available at the Museum for immediate pickup.
