Two Fridays, May 21 & 28

Spending a lot of time with your pet lately (Or is "your" pet spending a lot of time with you?) Celebrate your furry, scaly, or fuzzy friend by creating a memorable pet portrait. All you need is a digital photograph!

In this fun, skill-building class, participants will learn color mixing and texture techniques, and become familiar with working on stretched canvas, all while sharing joyful stories with fellow participants and the instructor. Registrants must provide a digital photo of their pet by May 11 to emoore@crockerart.org and pick up their pre-drawn canvas at the Crocker between noon and 4 PM on May 20.

Please note, supplies are not included. Click HERE for a supply list. Need advice or help when ordering supplies? Contact Studio Experience Manager Emma Moore at emoore@crockerart.org. Registration closes May 11.

Instructor Michelle Steen is the manager of public programs at the Crocker, where she previously coordinated family and early childhood programs. She holds an MFA in figurative painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and joined the Crocker in 2015 after moving to Sacramento. Previously, she taught private lessons and was an art instructor at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco. She lives with her husband, one-year-old human, and 12-year-old canine in East Tahoe Park.
