Beginning Watercolor Painting

Spring is the perfect time to paint flowers! Learn the dips, drips, and tricks of watercolor in this enjoyable, casual class for beginners. Start your flower studies with basic techniques, like wet wash and color mixing, before progressing to glazing. End the class by going outdoors to explore Sacramento's explosion of spring flora for your final painting.

Instructor Karen Roughton is an artist, retired art professor at American River College, and a Crocker docent. She has a master’s degree from California State University, Sacramento and has been involved in art education for more than 45 years. She is known for her supportive, easygoing teaching style.
