Gain a working knowledge of composition and acrylic painting fundamentals in a class designed for novice painters. Afterward, follow along step-by-step to create an Impressionist-inspired landscape on a pre-sketched canvas and make it your own. Enrollment closes August 14 at 10 AM.
Instructor Michelle Steen is the Manager of Public Programs at the Crocker, where she previously coordinated family and early childhood programs. She holds an MFA in figurative painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and joined the Crocker in 2015 after moving to Sacramento. Prior to that, she taught private lessons and was an art instructor at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco. She lives with her husband, one-year-old human and 12-year-old canine in East Tahoe Park.
Running low on supplies or just want to avoid going to the store? Make it easy on yourself and purchase a Supplies-to-Go Bag for $25 — conveniently packed and quarantined for at least 72 hours and ready for curbside pick-up at a designated time. Limit one per participant, available during registration.
If you want to order on your own materials, you will need the following supplies: various colors acrylic paint, 11 X 14 canvas, and acrylic brushes. Allow ample time for deliveries to ensure you are ready to go when class begins. Note: All participants will need access to Zoom.
