Classical Concert: Liana Paniyeva

PRELUDE TOUR: 1 & 2 PM; CONCERT: 3 PM
Pianist Liana Paniyeva performs a selection of works that highlight the Crocker’s collection of 19th-century European painting. The program includes favorites by Chopin, Liszt, and Schubert, as well as Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Trained in Ukraine, Paniyeva has been touring the world and winning awards like the Grand Prize at the Metropolitan International Piano Competition and first prize at the American Fine Arts Festival Golden Era of Romantic Music International Competition.
Before the performance, enjoy an in-depth, docent-led tour of select works in the Crocker’s collection of 19th-century German paintings, and other art from the permanent collection,to help put the music in context with the art.

music you heard. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase at the
Crocker Cafe until 4:30 PM, and cafe seating remains open until 5 PM.

Concert Series, featuring the finest musicians and singers from around
the region and across the world. These educational performances are
approximately 60 minutes with no intermission and draw a connection to
the art on view at the Museum.

Parking at the Crocker can be impacted during large events. To ensure an easy parking experience during your visit, we suggest using street parking (metered) on 3rd Street, Front Street, or N Street to avoid City of Sacramento parking lot congestion. Stops at 8th & O streets and at 8th & K streets are the closest.
