During Sacramento’s long hot summer, children ages 12 and under (and their grownups) can chill out at the Crocker and discover exciting surprises throughout the Museum. Enjoy lively performances, creatively social experiences, art-making, and more, all inspired by the exhibitions. Each month will be different and full of surprises. (Please note, a few activities may be held outside.)

The bright colors in Big Ideas: Richard Jackson’s Alleged Paintings are the catalyst behind circus-themed live performances, art-making, play, and exploration for the whole family.

Fourth Friday: Nature Colors

Chiura Obata’s paintings are filled with colors and themes from nature, and are the inspiration for nature-themed live performances, art-making, play, and exploration for the whole family.

AUGUST 23
Vibrant and hidden animals in the Crocker’s permanent collection prompt creature-themed live performances, art-making, play, and exploration for the whole family.
