Guest Curator Talk: ShiPu Wang on Chiura Obata

Dr. ShiPu Wang, curator of Chiura Obata: An American Modern, offers an enlightening discussion on one of the most significant Japanese American artists of the 20th century. Dr. Wang delves into Obata’s compelling personal story as an immigrant and an American, as reflected in the exhibition’s survey of the artist’s rich and varied body of work.
After the lecture, Professor Wang will sign copies of the exhibition catalogue and offer a special gallery tour of the exhibition. The catalogue is available for purchase in the Museum store.
