Drip painting is a technique that results in abstract art, and no two pieces are alike. Learn how to select and prepare the paint, then drip or pour onto stretched canvas.

About the Instructor:

Wende Kashin Obata graduated from the University of San Francisco with a masters degree in Counseling . After 25 years, she retired from a fulfilling Career as the owner and executive director of Counseling Innovations . Since 2008, Wende is passionately committed to her art. Self-taught, intuitive and experimental ,she presently is concentrating on abstract mixed media. She focuses on flow, movement, texture and color that provoke a strong emotional response . New to the Sacramento area, Wende’s works are installed at venues such as the Sacramento Fine Arts Center, Blue Line Arts , Pence Arts, Kennedy Gallery, First Friday Woodland Art walk and the KVIE Auction. She is the recipient of 2018 Northern California Arts Florence Forarria Memorial Award . Wende designs and facilitates both entry and advanced levels of her Cathartic fluid acrylic workshops throughout Northern California .

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
