Instructor: Amara Richardson
About the Instructor:
Amara has been passionate about art and its history since childhood. She studied art history and fine art at San Francisco State University and has continued her studies in a wide variety of mediums. Amara especially loves to work in clay, oil paint and mixed media to create colorful works with a good-humored touch of charm. She approaches making and teaching art from an art historian’s perspective and believes that understanding the past is essential to creating art for the future. Having worked with children for over a decade teaching after school art classes, directing a day camp and more, Amara has developed a natural rapport with her students. A lover of animals, she will happily talk about them for hours, so feel free to tell her all about your favorite creatures.
