Designed for teens with and without special needs, this watercolor painting class celebrates the talents of all students and provides a safe space where everyone’s creativity is valued and welcomed. If you have special accommodation needs, please contact Emma Moore at Please note, assistants do not pay a fee and are welcome in the studio.

About the Instructor:

Carrie is a professional artist and recently retired art teacher with over 20 years of experience working students of all ages. Her compassionate and engaging style has garnered her recognition in her field as an educator including her nomination for arts educator of the year by Sacramento Business in the Arts and her popular private classes in painting and printmaking.

She works with both gifted and special education students to establish an inclusive atmosphere where they can feel successful engaging in the artistic process, which is unique for each student.

Carrie’s art is inspired by nature and its seasonal rhythms. Her colorful work has been exhibited in galleries and private collections. She has won two Innovation awards at the California State Fair.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
