This introduction to acrylic painting offers basic lessons in color complements, tints, and shades. After experimenting with color mixing and techniques, paint an acrylic work on canvas.

Instructor: Shonna McDaniels
About the Instructor:
Shonna McDaniels is the Founder and Director of the Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum. She is a professional artist/muralist and has an extensive background in art instruction and mural designs. While residing in Germany, McDaniels taught art classes on military bases as well as organizing art exhibitions. She has more than 25 years of community involvement with various organizations that support the arts through exhibitions, artist residencies, community murals, and organizing community-based festivals in South Sacramento.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
