Discover how artists interpret their outdoor drawings to produce paintings. Begin by learning how to draw outdoors with ease, and develop content on site that you can reference when you return to the Crocker studios. Spend a day looking through your drawings, and make artistic decisions as you transfer your vision onto canvas.

Instructor: Shanon Essex
About the Instructor:
Captivated by drawings in books and newspapers early, Shanon Essex chose a creative life immersed in visual arts, design and music. That choice lead to a BFA in Painting & Drawing from San Francisco’s Academy of Art in the Spring of 2000. His fine art painting, drawing is enjoyed by private collectors and has been included in interior design projects nation wide. Shanon enjoys sharing his diverse creative talents and experience instructing drawing and painting classes in Northern California since 2013.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
