Draw a Rose for Beginners

Prized for its beauty and a symbol for love and passion, take a close-up look at the rose, and analyze the shapes that make up its form. Students will prepare several drawings from observation then choose one to fully develop. Take away a drawing worth framing. We’ll supply the matt!

About the Instructor:

Kaitlyn Griggs is a recent UC Davis graduate who majored in Art Studio and minored in Art History. Kaitlyn is primarily a 2D artist whose personal artwork is comprised of large, conceptual figure drawings and plein air landscapes. Her interest in teaching developed from her time volunteering within student organizations. Throughout her life, Kaitlyn has found art making to be an exciting endeavor and she loves helping foster a love of creativity in others.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
