Classical Concert: Aria Bella Ensemble
Sunday, February 11, 2018
NOTE: Due to an injury, our original performer for February, Michelle Xiao You, is unable to perform. We are happy to present the Aria Bella Ensemble in her place.
Featuring flutist Gail Edwards on flute, soprano Gloria Mendieta Gazave, and harpist Anna Maria Mendieta, The Aria Bella Ensemble is both elegant and entertaining - with a touch of playfulness! From Mozart to Mancini, Gershwin to Groban, Bach to Bocelli, performances feature a clever presentation of familiar favorites as well as unique musical treasures. This particular program will connect with the special art exhibits of the Crocker. All award winning musicians - the soprano is a veteran of Opera & Musical Theater, and the instrumentalists are members of the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera - The Aria Bella Ensemble will delight audiences with their passionate performance and skilled musicianship.
For more than 50 years, the Crocker has proudly presented its Classical Concert Series, a monthly concert featuring the finest musicians and singers from around the region and across the world. Performances are 60 minute concerts with no intermission and draw a connection to the art on view at the Museum and offer audiences a chance to hear a variety of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. Performers are selected by the Crocker’s Classical Concert Music Board based on experience, quality of proposed program, and, most importantly, talent and musicianship.
Before the performance, enjoy a docent-led tour of works from the Crocker's permanent collection to help put the music in context with the art.
