Designed with the beginner in mind, participants will explore the versatility and ease of Gouache, a water-based paint. Learn how to mix colors in a paint palette, apply layers, produce tints, and shade an object to add dimension.

About the Instructor:
Captivated by drawings in books and newspapers early, Shanon Essex chose a creative life immersed in visual arts, design and music. That choice lead to a BFA in Painting & Drawing from San Francisco’s Academy of Art in the Spring of 2000. His fine art painting, drawing is enjoyed by private collectors and has been included in interior design projects nation wide. Shanon enjoys sharing his diverse creative talents and experience instructing drawing and painting classes in Northern California since 2013.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
