Realistic Drawing with Colored Pencils

Draw details with ease using color pencils, learn how to blend colors using techniques such as cross-hatching and layering, and explore ways to achieve 3-D effects by shading. Students will begin drawing simple still lifes with seasonal fruit and vegetables, then learn how to compose a complex still life and apply new skills to produce a final drawing.

About the Instructor:
For the past 15 years, Laura Schofield has been an instructor at Academic Talent Search (ATS) through CSUS, where she instructs grades 4 through 9 students in beginning cartooning, animation, Stop=motion and Anime/Manga. “I love teaching young students. They are excited to participate and absorb everything we cover in class. No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
