Six Tuesdays, October 10 - November 14
Draw details with ease using color pencils, learn how to blend colors using techniques such as cross-hatching and layering, and explore ways to achieve 3-D effects by shading. Students will begin drawing simple still lifes with seasonal fruit and vegetables, then learn how to compose a complex still life and apply new skills to produce a final drawing.

About the Instructor:
For the past 15 years, Laura Schofield has been an instructor at Academic Talent Search (ATS) through CSUS, where she instructs grades 4 through 9 students in beginning cartooning, animation, Stop=motion and Anime/Manga. “I love teaching young students. They are excited to participate and absorb everything we cover in class. This willingness and enthusiasm to learn makes me a better educator because I draw from their energy.” “Crocker Art Museum offers a program that enhances my teaching skills by allowing the freedom to be flexible in my curriculum, thus permitting me to match the student’s needs and learning pace.”

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
