Starting an Artist's Journal
September 24, 2017
1 - 3:30 PM
Three Sundays, September 24 - October 8
Discover the joy of art journaling. We will start by adopting a "seeking" attitude to find compelling subjects to draw from life, then learn how to build interesting journal entries by arranging images with words to create a visual narrative. Make journaling a habit by creating a routine that includes developing sketches and sharing your work. Some experience with drawing and painting is recommended.

Instructor: Erin O'Toole
About the Instructor:
Skilled with pen and ink, watercolor and oils, Erin translates her love of the natural world around us to her journals. She created more than 500 watercolor paintings as the primary illustrator for the Sunset Western Garden book. Her pen and ink drawings illustrate California’s wildlife for publications by the American River Natural History Association and Audubon Society. Her book, Create your own Artist’s Journal, published by North Light Books, has ideas on materials, page composition, and working from memory.
