Ages 18+

Learn the art and alchemy of natural, organic soap, and make your own using the age-old, cold-process technique. Each student will choose an essential oil for aroma and learn a simple coloring technique using micas and oxides. Students will receive an instruction manual and make up to a pound of soap. The Soap Salon will provide gift certificates toward supplies and ingredients, so that participants can continue soaping at home.

$40 members • $70 nonmembers

About the Instructor:

The Soap Salon has been a staple in the community for well over a decade.Salon-owner MJ has been teaching in Sacramento and surrounding cities for more than 20 years, bringing her craft and love of soap making to children and adults.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
