Sculpting with Pie Dough

Pies are a blank canvas for delicious fall fruit and your creative expression. Spend some time rolling dough and building two beautiful two-crust pies with the best of the season. Participants will review all the dough basics and then delve into baking and decorating classic peach and a blueberry pies. Time will be devoted to different decorating techniques, inspiration, developing creative expression and building a composition with your pie. Bring a cooler or bag with ice packs to take pies home for baking.

About the Instructor:
Rose Lawrence is the chef and fermenter behind Red Bread, a California Organic Kitchen based in Los Angeles and founded by Rose and David Lawrence. Rose has always been captivated by food. she is committed to understanding the science, art, and magic of real food treated with care. Rose is a passionate check, baker, master food preserver, and is actively involved with food justice issues.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
