The Takeover: Art + Music Festival for Teens

May 13, 2017
12 - 4 PM

What happens when teens take over the Crocker Art Museum? Music, games, dancing, and lots of fun! Don't miss Sacramento’s largest event celebrating youth art, vision, and culture. It is the teen scene of the year!

Explore the diversity of 1,000 paper cranes, made by Isabella Tsue for a service project between Laguna Creek High School's Key Club, the Japanese Culture Club, and the National Honor Society to honor WWII atomic bomb victim and promote world peace. Make your mark on an interactive sculpture built by C.K. McClatchy's visual and performing arts students. Spit some rhymes and let it flow with a live band backing you up: join a rocking Cypher session with Element Brass Band and let the world hear your voice. Plus, meet up-and-coming DJ Coby! Cleanse your mind, body and soul inside the Sol Collective geo dome. Free your mind with positive affirmations, and share your ideas for change in the Speak N Jam Circle with hand drums and acoustic instruments. Sol Collective's BathBomb will be on hand to provide the 411 on medicinal baths and dry herbs to take home. Also: pick up some kitchen tips from Adam, a contestant on Fox's MasterChef Junior (Season 5).
