Take your sidewalk art to the next level! Discover how artists use chalk, from the Stone Age to present day. Learn how to add shading to your chalk drawings to make them appear more realistic, then choose your subject, and produce drawings on paper and pavement.
$75 members • $100 nonmembers
Instructor: Abigal VanCannon
About the Instructor:
Abigail VanCannon paints out of her home studio in Sacramento, CA. Her artistic background allows her to work and teach in numerous mediums, but she is most prolific in oils. She holds a BFA from Iowa State University and MFA from the Academy of Art University. SouthWest Art Magazine named VanCannon one of the 21 Under 31 emerging artists in 2012. She was selected for 30 Under 30 in Summer 2013 Art Business News Publication as well as SouthWest Art Magazine's “Meet The Finalist” December 2013. VanCannon keeps and active exhibition record, showing in many local and national settings.
You can "Bundle" this class with Watercolor Walkabout from 9 AM - 12 PM.
When you register your child for this "Bundle," our education department supervises an hour of midday care each day between classes for only $12. Children bring their own lunch, and parents are welcome to join for lunchtime. Please click here to register for midday care.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
