Wednesday - Friday, July 5 - 7

Venture into the urban outdoors for artistic inspiration. On walking field trips to the river and around the Crocker, you will learn how to use watercolors to create simple landscapes and depict textures. You will receive a watercolor sketchbook, portable palette, and brush to keep.

$75 members • $100 nonmembers

About the Instructor:

Helen Plenert, a native of Sacramento, has been painting for more than 35 years. While her first love is watercolors, she also works with acrylics. To date, Plenert has created 18 murals with children from elementary schools around Sacramento. She also exhibits in local galleries and is recently retired from directing Women’s Wisdom Art for the last 10 years.

You can "Bundle" this class with Rock the Chalk from 1 - 4 PM.

When you register your child for this "Bundle," our education department supervises an hour of midday care each day between classes for only $12. Children bring their own lunch, and parents are welcome to join for lunchtime. Please click here to register for midday care.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
