Compare Impressionist works in the Crocker’s permanent collection to learn about the distinctive brush strokes of this style. Gain a working knowledge of composition and acrylic painting fundamentals, then produce an original landscape painting in the Impressionist style.

Instructor: Sarma Karsiere
About the Instructor:
Sarma Karsiere is an internationally recognized artist from Riga, Latvia. In her art, she explores the possibilities found in the cross-pollination of traditional and digital art media. She has been teaching studio art for more than 16 years and is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Los Rios Community College District.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms. Registered students are not permitted to bring guests.
Summer activities abound in Sacramento. Events this weekend may cause

take the Q Street exit off of Interstate 80 and use P Street to 2nd
Street to access parking. Additional parking is available in city lots and parking
