Classical Concert: Trois Bois
March 12, 2017
Enter a pastoral soundscape with the woodwind trio Trois Bois. Drawing inspiration from bucolic artworks in the Crocker’s permanent collection, such as August Renoir’s Danseuse au Tambourin and E. Charlton Fortune’s Feeding Time, Trois Bois created a concert entitled “Musical Scenery” that is sure to delight the ears, just as the artworks delight the eyes. Music by Joseph Canteloube and Henri Sauguet, among others, will be featured in an idyllic afternoon among the lyrical tones of woodwind instruments. Space is limited and advance registration is recommended.
In advance of the Classical Concert, enjoy a docent-led tour of works denoting outdoor revelry in the Crocker's permanent collection to help put the music in context with the art. Prelude Tours are open to all visitors.
Purchase tickets by clicking the REGISTER button above, visiting the Museum Admission Desk, or calling (916) 808-1182.
