For students with drawing experience, this class will expand your eye and repertoire. Experience observational drawing of professional nude models while exploring the creative possibilities of incorporating water-based media into your pencil and charcoal drawings. Comparative measuring, sighting, proportion, estimating, and object placement will be covered.

About the Instructor:

Sarma Karsiere is an internationally recognized artist from Riga, Latvia. In her art, she explores the possibilities found in the cross-pollination of traditional and digital art media. She has been teaching studio art for more than 16 years and is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Los Rios Community College District.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms. Registered students are not permitted to bring guests.
