Calidanza Dance Company Presents: "Noche de Muertos"
October 27, 2016
The Crocker is proud to once again present Calidanza Dance Company’s family-friendly tribute to Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos. Under the stars in the Crocker’s courtyard, Calidanza will showcase rituals, ceremonies, and high-energy dances to commemorate this sacred Day of the Dead. The evening will include the 2013 “Noche de Muertos,” a modernistic piece commissioned by the San Francisco Symphony; as well a new choreography of a traditional dance entitled “La Viejada;” the famous Deer dance; and more. Also featured will be Rory Castillo's Catrina Catwalk Fashion Show and stunning visuals by liquid light show artist George Holden (Grateful Dead, Santana, Van Morrison). Live musical accompaniment provided by Orgullo Regional will make this an event to remember. Space is limited; should rain prevent use of the courtyard, the performance will move inside the Museum.
