Susie Burton enjoyed a long career in financial services. She served four governors and worked with numerous other elected officials and appointees during her 25 years in financial management for the State of California. Before establishing her own company, SBurton International Inc., she worked with a private company conducting seminars worldwide for investment executives of corporate, university; and government pension funds, endowments and trusts. Then, through SBI, she worked with a small group of international clients with products and services helpful to institutional investors. In 2002, accompanying her husband to assume his new appointment as CEO of the World Gold Council, she relocated to London where she became actively involved volunteering as a committee chair and board member of a women’s association. She planned, organized, and moderated lectures and tours, researching topics and venues throughout London, the UK, and parts of France and Italy. In 2010, Susie and Jim again became permanent Sacramento residents. Before moving to London, she was a member of the Boards of CSU - Sacramento Foundation, the Tahoe Baikal Institute, and the Camelia Symphony, on the Advisory Board for Stanford Law School’s Fiduciary College and on the Investment Committee for the SF Bay Area Girl Scouts.
