I am the retired owner of Taylor’s Art Center (now University Art). I have been an artist for most of my life. I started with watercolor in my youth; I came by it naturally while sick in bed. It was a wonderful way to be entertained while home bound. Over the 43 years, I’ve always painted. Now retired since 1998, I have painted more. I found encaustic a few years ago and like the spontaneity of the medium. Just like acrylics, it is immediate and I like that. I prefer to paint on cradled or archival boards in a heavy loose style.
