The act of making a self portrait, staring at your own self portrait for hours upon hours forces you to look not only what can be seen by the naked eye, but also to see what lies underneath. The creation of the last breath was a journey that tested me as an artist and as a son. While painting my self portrait, I underwent a dramatic change in the way I view life and how I want my life to be.
