My self portrait focuses on the brush strokes to add textures to so that it wouldn't look flat. It was an inspiration from different kinds of artists such as Reina Yamada on Instagram. Ever since I've gotten into photography, I would take pictures and turn them into art. Like this self portrait, many of my friends noticed in my photos that I would pose like an almost side profile which is showcased in this piece, It became a habit of mine. This is all done using acrylic, something that is still challenging media for me since I've only experience using it for 3 years. Even though it was complicated, I enjoyed using acrylic it allowed me to add on multiple layers until I was satisfied with the outcome.
